All I've ever wanted to do in this game was let people add tracks. There's been so many arguments about accuracy, licencing and so forth but I haven't heard about anyone from rFactor being sued because they made a track.
Why does it take a team to make tracks?? I mean, there's HEAPS of people who make tracks or convert them in rF and GTR etc.
If we had real tracks, or the ability to convert them, we'd be able to do things like race FOX at Mt Panorama, or BF1 on the Isle of Mann, or UF1 at Monaco.
The only 2 things stopping this game from being perfect are wet weather, and real world tracks.
My idea for a track is a little different than the ones above.
I'm not suggesting a particular track. Rather, the dev's allowing others to make tracks themselves. Then we can have some real world tracks that aren't made by LFS dev's. Similar to the way GPL works. It's a game that's nearly 10 years old, and still has new tracks, or updates for tracks, coming out regularly. I don't think the Bathurst council, or the mayor of Suzuka is out hunting down the bastards that made their track for GPL and there's more people driving GPL at the moment than LFS.
I don't think we should be able to edit cars. I don't think we want to go down the rFactor route with 50 different mods. But having real world tracks with the cars we have would be a great inclusion to LFS.
IMHO, appart from the wet weather and sound, the only thing this game needs to be near-perfect is real world tracks, and if no money's being made off them, it can only be a good thing
Could anyone please make me a Lewis Hamilton Helmet skin? I've been driving with his ART F08/GP2 skin for a while and would love to have this helmet to go with it.
Hi, I'm kinda new to the scripting thing. I was wondering if one of you scripting guru's could make a script for me.
What I'm wanting to do is have a button mapped to shift to a specific gear. So that I'm able to use paddle shifting, but when I come up to a corner, eg turn 1 Ky2, i can brake and punch the button to go directly to 4th gear.
I'm using an Emagin z800 hmd with tracking in it and the head tracking in LFS is pretty aveage. It's more than likely the tracker in the headset. But the guy who's made the tracking software for the z800 made a binding key. It works ok but I can't do a single lap without needing it at least once.
